Super Mario Bros Halloween Costume Options

Super Mario brothers are always a popular choice for costumes at Halloween, but with the release of the latest Super Mario Galaxy game installment this year, will make them even bigger! This is a really fun costume choice for both adults and kids, especially if you want a costume you can wear together with a friend.

Mario is the plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom alongside his brother Luigi, who is also a plumber. Both the outfits revolve around the functional aspects of plumbing, but they’re extremely distinctive and everyone will recognize who you’re supposed to be when you choose this theme!

Super Mario Bros Costume: Mario

It’s no surprise that Mario is a leading costume when it comes to Super Mario costumes and Halloween costumes in general. The first Super Mario game was released all the way back in 1985, and Mario’s outfit hasn’t changed since then.

Mario wears the distinctive blue dungarees over the top of a red long-sleeved shirt with white gloves. He has a red had with an “M” logo, and a very distinctive round face and mustache!

There are two officially licensed costumes by Nintendo for the character of Mario: the standard version and the deluxe version. Both come in sizes for adults and children/ toddlers, and both include the blue dungarees and red shirt.

They also feature a mustache and “M” hat. The main difference is that the deluxe version offers more “padding” for a much more authentic and round Mario look! You can inflate the belly to make sure it looks just right!

Mario Bros Costume Option 2: Luigi

The next most popular Mario Bros costume option is Mario’s brother Luigi. Luigi is taller and slimmer than his brother, with a similar outfit (except for the fact that it’s green and not red). Luigi is often there to save his brother, but he does tend to get into trouble himself and can, at times, be a little cowardly!

The official Luigi costume by Nintendo is available in both child/ toddler and adult sizes. It features the blue dungarees/ green shirt and the green hat featuring the letter “L”. And who could forget the mustache to match his brother’s?!

There is a Super Mario bros costume idea for the women and girls out there, and that is Princess Peach – the princess that Mario is constantly trying to save!

This is a fantastic costume for girls who love to dress up like princesses, and a new official costume for children was released for this year. The Super Mario Deluxe Princess Peach Child Costume features a pink dress with puff sleeves, long white gloves, and a soft crown headpiece.

Or perhaps you’d rather dress as Yoshi, the fun dinosaur who also features in the game. The Yoshi costume is available in both adult and child sizes, coming with the memorable green dinosaur jumpsuit and the dinosaur head.
